Sometimes all you want is a juicy burger in your life Let's not get a head of ourselves, I fancied a burger. Sue me. Yes I know Istanbul is a gastronomic collossus, but sometimes a man wants what a man wants. Devoid of too many options based solely on location and knowing how walk-time degrades the burgers freshness and more importantly kills french fries, I had to limit myself to within certain parameters. 3 Burger was highly rated and a 6 minute walk from my hotel. As I waited for them to cook my order a young local girl tried to feed a stray cat but ended up getting sent screaming down the road as the cat attacked her with hiss and venom. Poor thing. My burger and fries arrived and I hurried home in the way you walk when you know every moment counts. I'll admit my expectations were not sky high when entering the burger shop, and for once they were right. This was a pretty mediocre affair. The patty was mushy and not really seasoned well, the fries were completely ok but secondary to the main item. Lesson learnt. When in Istanbul, whip those cravings into submission and eat from the wonderous bounty of available options. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
