"The agony of choice"
Yet another behemoth of tables and trays, this wildly popular local places is like worker ants entering the hive at lunchtime. The lines are stupendous. I accidentally cut the line thinking I was pouncing on an opportunity to slide in before a package group came, only to realise it was just the line moving ever so slowly and suddenly I was the object of scorn from hungry punters. I shouldered the hate and scooped food on my plate and hid in darkness beyond.

Again, Malay, sweet. Sweet, sweet sweet. They freaking love their sweet food here and it drives me insane. Malaysians always ask me why I eat so much Indian food whilst in Malaysia, well.. duh!!! Cause Indians save the sugar for their desserts or chai, and those things are easily omissable from a meal.

Still, look, if you're going to eat on Langkawi, then head on here instead of the tourist traps and at least you can tell your bored friends back home that you have authentic Malay cuisine, even if it didn't set your world (or tongue) on fire.
FIND

These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG  and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
