Rating: 7 / 10 I wake up with curry cravings almost every day. Unless I'm in a colder climate and wrapped in Ramen and Pho infatuations, curry is the first thing I want. That being said, Kuala Lumpur is paradise for curry afficionados. Almost every street has either a banana leaf or a roti canai place tempting you with escaping scents. Having tried most of the places that top lists and are bragged about in blogs, I decided to explore a little by myself and read up on this banana leaf place hidden up some staircases and loved by locals. I managed to time it just to miss the lunch rush, but the food was still warm. Chicken Curry and all the regular trimmings were sent to my table as the last table behind me burped, washed their hands and moustaches and left. Thus flew twenty undisturbed minutes spent in spice revery. I sat alone, spooning finger-fulls of delicately spiced chicken curry, vegetarian dishes and crunchy pappadoms until I could barely move no more. My wretched frame was wrestled from the table, bills were paid, and out into the pollution of Leboh Ampang with a stomach set to burst open and reveal my excess. Not perhaps the tastiest banana leaf I had in KL, but a pretty damn underrated one! These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
