Rating: 6 / 10 Pizza in Berlin is almost as popular as Kebab's. Every main street has at least one if not two pizzeria's of wildly differing quality. Being house-bound in Covid protocols I was reduced to take-away food for the duration of my stay, therefore pizza was a no-brainer. Being stationed in Friedrichshein I had been to Il Ritrovo and a couple others a few times and decided to cast my net a bit further. Being forced to take the pizza away always compromises the quality, cardboard boxes are kryptonite for a crispy crust, but the house was barely 200 meters away. It was crispy, the sauce was alright, as was the cheese, it was a bit sloppily made and didn't really have any zing to it. I found myself eating it wondering how much worse a frozen pizza really would have been at a time like this. That's not a question you want to ask yourself at a legit pizzeria. These recommendations are just personal opinions based on my palate, things change, chefs get fired or replaced, places open-close, relocate, so take it all with a pinch of MSG and discover your own gems too. But please do try a few of these, they have been researched exhaustively.
